Terms of use

Veil lets you open websites through our server. It is free, with a daily allowance of 500 MB, and comes without guarantees.

Allowed

Normal browsing: reading, searching, watching, using sites you are allowed to use.

Not allowed

Only web ports are open. Mail, file-sharing, SSH and game traffic is blocked.

One person, one account

Use one account for yourself. Opening several accounts or using several browsers to get more free allowance is not allowed, and we use a device marker and a network hint to notice it (see the privacy notice). Accounts doing this may be blocked.

Monitoring

To keep the service free of illegal and abusive use, we log which website addresses (host and port, not pages or contents) each account connects to, for 30 days. Details are in the privacy notice. If you do not accept this, do not use Veil.

What we may do

We may block an account that breaks these rules or harms the service, change the allowance, or stop the service at any time. We may pass on what we hold if the law requires it. That is the connection log described above, and nothing about page contents.

No guarantees

Some sites will not work through a proxy, and some will block it. We do not promise the service is secure enough for banking or other sensitive use, or always available. You are responsible for what you do through it.
